Welcome to October at SociAbilities
The children have been enjoying the curriculum presented weekly. In September we were introduced to Michelle Garcia Winner’s social thinking characters of Thinkables and Unthinkabots. We will continue to teach more throughout October. We have begun working on skills needed to start and end a conversation. The month of October we will practice staying on topic, and active listening. Our topics for the month will also include taking turns, showing empathy and ways to solve conflicts both at home and at school.
This month is one of my favorites full of tasting foods of the season, halloween fun art, and pumpkin carving. We will have our Halloween costume party on October 21st and continue the tradition of pumpkin carving on October 28th. All siblings are included in the fun. More information for party sign-ups and pumpkin carving to come soon.
Reminder to park to the right of my home on my side of street or accross the street. Do not park or stop in front of my neighbors to the left of my home. Thank you for supporting my request.
If your child does not want a snack provided, they are always welcome to bring their own.
Please make sure to arrive on time to class and be promptly picked up at the end of class. I know traffic can interfere with tardiness, just let me know your child will be late.
